Careers

Herark is founder-led and small on purpose. There are no open roles today. When there are, they are posted here first.

What you would be joining

An independent studio building original games and publishing them itself, across all genres. No external publisher sets our calendar and no licensor sets our design. Small studios succeed by finishing things, and that shapes who we look for more than any list of engines or languages.

How we hire

When a role opens it is posted on this page with the pay range written into it. We do not run unpaid tests. If we ask you to do work that takes more than an hour, we pay for it. You will hear where you stand at every step rather than being left to guess.

We hire for judgment ahead of years served. If you have shipped something, however small, that counts for more with us than the size of the company you shipped it at.

Contract and freelance

Most of what a studio this size needs first is specialist and short: audio, additional art, localisation, a QA pass before a release. If that is your work, send a rate and a portfolio and it goes on file, so that when the need arrives we are not starting from a blank page.

Registering interest

There is no application form and no tracking system to disappear into. Email inquiry@herark.net with what you do and a link to your work. We read everything that is not obviously automated, and if a role opens that fits, we come back to you before we post it.

What we will not do

We will not advertise a role we are not funded to fill, and we will not collect applications to build a pipeline for a job that does not exist. If this page says there are no open roles, there are no open roles.
